Most detox diets then allow for a slow re-introduction of other foods, gradually. The diets generally restrict foods from your diet that are said to have harmful toxins. Along with this a detox diet should then flush the existing toxins out of the body.
The holiday season is the time of year filled with entertaining, parties and social gatherings. Whether planning a small, intimate gathering or a large family affair, it is often the host's attention to detail that impresses guests the most. Creating a festive atmosphere, planning ahead and preparing delicious dishes will ensure guests have a memorable experience. This holiday season, follow these simple tips, guaranteed to delight visitors and simplify holiday entertaining.
As one of the most common causes of lethargy is constipation, learn more about colon detox today
Create Atmosphere
Limit the size of the gathering, consider several intimate parties rather than a large open house
Add distinctive touches that guests will remember. Creative centre pieces, colourful drinks, special serving dishes and bright napkins will all assist in creating an inviting atmosphere
Create ambience with candles and festive music or string indoor lights or ribbon around house plants and stairways
Treat guests to small favours that they can take home as mementos of the evening (i.e. a small decorative candle or colourful ornament)
There are many other diet's and detox therapies, these are just a few common methods. Regular body detoxification is a good preventative action and promotes a healthier present and future!

Be Prepared
Consider hiring someone to assist with set-up and clean-up during the event. A neighbourhood teen or college student would be grateful for the extra income around the holidays
Develop a check list and timeline of things to do before the event to ensure that party elements are well-organized
Prepare food, beverages, dcor the day before so you can spend more time with guests
Set up an area where guests can fix their own drinks. Use a cooler with ice to keep beverages chilled and free up the refrigerator
Keep Food Simple and Beautiful
Plan a combination of hot and cold foods to decrease preparation time
Prepare popular, tasty appetizers that are visually pleasing such as Knorr's Classic Spinach Dip in a pumpernickel bread bowl
Hors d'oeuvres provide guests with a sampling of numerous cuisines and offer variety. Pay special attention to offer meatless and non-dairy edibles for guests with religious, vegetarian and lactose-intolerant restrictions
To help achieve better health, it is important therefore to detoxify and cleanse. How much you wish to detoxify is really dependent on yourself and how "cleanse" you want your body to be. In fact, any simple changes to your diet that prevent and clear your toxin built-up is helpful. For instance, drinking eight glasses of filtered water is something easy that you can do on a daily basis.

Planning Meal Number One!
So what is detoxifying?
Well, it is an internal cleansing of toxins, from our bodies.
These are toxins that we either produce, ingests or absorb.
Our bodies produce toxins as it goes about it's regular daily
functioning and when our system is working properly these toxins
will be eliminated efficiently.
But very few of us have systems that are so well balanced, anymore.
We are not eating properly, we don't get enough rest or exercise.
So, our bodies don't function as smoothly as they should.
Detox diets vary, but they typically advise restriction of the diet to raw vegetables, fruit, water and yoghurt
It's nice when I find a meal where the foods compliment each other because it simplifies my life by knowing what to serve with what. Of course I don't have to stick to any one meal plan; I can mix and match the main dishes and sides, but a lot of the time I'm in a hurry and don't have a lot of time to think about it. I already have quite a few meals like this up my sleeve, but when I find a NEW one to add to my collection I get happy because it adds a little more variety to our meal choices.
I'd like to share some of my new and old meal plans with you in hopes of helping you with the question `what do I make for dinner'. Here's a meal that we have tried lately where the foods complimented each other really well. The food items aren't necessarily new for us, but the flavors are and that makes a big difference.
The Meal:
* Honey Barbecue Meatloaf
* Ranch Mashed Potatoes
* Your choice of vegetable (I just heat up a can of green beans or corn)
* Apple Cinnamon Muffins with Honey Cinnamon Butter
Make Ahead Tips: You can make the Honey Cinnamon Butter ahead of time and refrigerate until serving. You can also prepare the meat loaf and refrigerate it before baking.
The Recipes:
Honey Barbecue Meat Loaf
I'm not usually a meat loaf eater but I love this one and the family does too.
1 envelope dry onion soup mix

1 egg

1/2 cup oats -- quick cooking

1/3 cup barbecue sauce -- honey flavored

1/4 cup chopped onion

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon mustard -- prepared

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon chili powder

1 pound ground beef

ketchup

There are many other diet's and detox therapies, these are just a few common methods. Regular body detoxification is a good preventative action and promotes a healthier present and future!

In a large bowl, stir together soup mix, egg, oats, barbecue sauce, onion, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, salt, pepper and chili powder. Add beef and mix well. Press into an ungreased 8-in. x 4-in. x 2-in. loaf pan. Bake at 350* for 1 hour. Top with ketchup. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until meat is no longer pink and a meat thermometer reads 160*. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Ranch Mashed Potatoes
Make mashed potatoes as you usually do but omit the butter and add ranch dressing and cream cheese to taste along with less milk than usual. Top with grated cheddar cheese.
Apple Cinnamon Muffins
My kids love these (so do I) and there's never any leftovers because of this. We also make them for breakfast. Be sure to try them with `Honey Cinnamon Butter' (recipe follows).
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup sugar

1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 egg

1/2 cup milk

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 tablespoons applesauce

1 medium tart apple -- peeled & grated

topping:

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons butter or margarine -- cold

1/2-cup oatmeal -- old fashioned
In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Add the egg, milk, oil and applesauce and stir until just moistened. Fold in apple. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups two-thirds full. For topping, combine brown sugar and flour. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in oats. Sprinkle over muffins. Bake at 400* for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack. Serve warm with Honey Cinnamon Butter (recipe follows). Yield: 1 dozen.
Honey Cinnamon Butter
1 cup butter or margarine, softened

1/2 cup honey

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a small mixing bowl; beat until smooth. Serve with muffins, toast, bagels, French toast or pancakes. Refrigerate any leftovers. Yield: 1 1/3 cups.
In the meantime, keep your eyes open for Meal Two.
A more drastic measure of cleansing your body is to do complete fasting. Complete fasting helps to give your body organs a much needed rest. In fact, Hippocrates (the "Father of Modern Medicine") believed that the body needs not only physical rest but chemical rest. Chemical rest refers to withholding food, thus giving the organs of the body an opportunity to discharge accumulated waste products and thereby cleanse themselves.

What Causes Upper Back Pain?
Upper back pain is something a number of people around the world suffer from. Almost every one of us is susceptible to it. It is, therefore, important for all of us to know what causes it.
Besides accidental injury, a displacement of upper disc has been found to be among the leading causes of upper back pain. The parts of the body that are more frequently in motion are more susceptible to injuries, and since the upper back is quite stable in this regard, so the upper back is not easily hurt during lifting heavy objects. However, such condition as spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease and herniated disc can indeed cause upper back pain. But it is not very common.
What has emerged as one of the most common causes is rather simple- wrong posture. That may sound quite an unlikely cause at first, but sitting for long hours in wrong posture can have disastrous affect on your back. And upper back is what a poor posture affects the worst.
Another cause can be a lack of strength in the upper back region. If the muscles of one’s upper back are not strong enough the chances of injury increases. Simple everyday tasks might injure one’s back, without one even coming to know of it. So, if you think you have a weak upper back, start strength building exercises for upper back.
Repetitive motion has also been found to be injurious for the upper back. For instance, if you work on a particular machine in a particular posture and the repetitive movements on the machine involve your upper back, the chances of your suffering from upper back pain are heightened.
The best cure for upper back pain in such situations is building the strength of your upper back. Weight training exercises, coupled with stretching exercises and yoga are found to be very effective in this regard.
Go about exercising systematically and under informed guidance so that you do not injure yourself in an attempt to make yourself stronger. It is important for you to understand that painkillers are not the way to go. You need to remove the very roots of your back pain. Medication, therefore, should be your last option and not the first one. Correct posture and regular physical exercise is the most effective answer to upper back pain.
